In the past three years, the Kelowna Yacht Club has spent almost $40,000 maintaining the public mooring buoys between the bridge and Caesar’s Landing and has added another 14 buoys in 2009.

Maintenance and annual inspections cost the Club an average of almost $700/buoy each year.

NEW KYC moorage tie-up standards.. (August 21, 2008)

KYC MOORAGE REGULATIONS
Revised and Approved September 16, 2009. It is imperative that all KYC members that have been assigned moorage in the KYC Moorage Basin be familiar with, and abide by, KYC Moorage regulations. Lack of knowledge of KYC Moorage Regulations is not an acceptable excuse for violation of the regulations.

MOORAGE REPORT, October, 2009,
RAY BARNES, KYC Moorage Director

I am pleased to advise that on September 11 we placed 14 new mooring buoys in the lake. They each have 4400# anchors and are capable of holding a substantial amount of weight. Adding these buoys was the result of a lot of time and effort expended by a number of Moorage Committee members. I would like to give a special thanks to Ed Flewett who headed up our mooring buoy subcommittee and spent many hours of his time to make this a reality.

Earlier this year we repositioned the six old buoys at Raymer Bay and the five at Trader’s Cove and added 2200# of additional weight to each of them. Next year the seven old buoys which were not attended to this year will be inspected and have an additional 2200# of weight added. We may also have to reposition some of these buoys slightly. The location of all the public mooring buoys that we maintain is as follows:
