Kelowna Yacht Club Racing
Kelowna Yacht Club is home to the most active racing program on Okanagan Lake. Club races are held throughout the year in both open and women-only fleets. The highlights of the racing year, which extends from March to October, are the Blossom Time Regatta on the long weekend in May, the Okanagan Race Week and the End-to-End Regatta in September. The Okanagan Race Week consists of a regatta in Summerland at the southern section of the lake, a long distance race to Kelowna midweek and the Commodore’s Cup Regatta in Kelowna to conclude the week.
Competitors at Kelowna Yacht Club enjoy the fact that the club is perfectly situated to take advantage of the prevailing winds and currents are usually insignificant.
Race management is held to a high standard and is reviewed regularly to encompass rule changes as well as changes to the fleet structure.
