DESCRIPTION:2026 Vernon Regatta\nJune 5–7\, 2026 \nThe Vernon Regatta returns June 5–7\, 2026\, and we are excited to welcome competitors\, crews\, families\, and friends back to the Vernon Yacht Club for another fantastic weekend of racing\, camaraderie\, and celebration. \nFollowing an unforgettable 2025 regatta featuring the Santana 525 Nationals—and a memorable windstorm on Saturday afternoon—we can only imagine what exciting conditions\, close competition\, and great stories 2026 will bring. \nWe look forward to welcoming sailors from clubs throughout Okanagan Lake and beyond. Whether you’re a returning competitor or joining us for the first time\, we’re thrilled to have you as part of this historic regatta. \nWeekend Schedule\nThe festivities begin on Friday\, June 5 at 2:00 PM with the traditional Whiskey Island Race\, held in memory of Richard Rotteveel. DESCRIPTION:Basic Cruising Standard · Sailing Certification \nHave you always wanted to become a competent crew or skipper? The Basic Cruising course is for you! We offer two options for students\, depending on your comfort level and strengths. \nBasic Cruising – Competent Crew\nStudents who have limited sailing experience will learn the ins and outs of cruising without the pressure of taking total control of the boat. You will move through the course at a pace you are comfortable with and learn how to be an asset on any sailboat! The Sail Canada Basic Crew Standard will be awarded to our Competent Crew students upon successful completion of this course. \nBasic Cruising – Day Skipper\nStudents who have prior sailing experience and are looking to take control of the boat will be working on crew and skipper skills during the course. You will take on more responsibility with the goal of being confident and competent to handle the boat after the course on your own with a small crew.
