DESCRIPTION:Step into our Mad Scientists Lab! \nThis Halloween\, we’re partnering with UBC Geering Up to transform the Grand Banquet Room into a laboratory filled with spooky science\, curious creations\, and plenty of Halloween fun. \nWho Is This Event For? \nThis event is open to KYC Members and their guests and is designed for families with children. \nCostumes are encouraged\, so come dressed in your Halloween best and get ready for an afternoon of experimenting\, creating\, and discovering! \nThe Experience \nGet ready for some seriously spooky science! \nGather around for exciting live science demonstrations featuring chemical reactions designed to create some serious “WOW!” moments. Kids and families can watch as experiments bubble\, react\, and bring science to life right before their eyes. \nAt the Zombie Eyeball Station\, young scientists will mix ingredients together to create their very own squishy\, gelatinous zombie eyeball. For those brave enough to give their creation a try\, the ingredients are even edible! \nThere will be even more Halloween fun to discover throughout the afternoon\, including face painting\, Halloween colouring and activities\, snacks and treats\, and goodie bags to take home. \nEvent Details \nDate: Saturday\, October 31\, 2026\nTime: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM\nLocation: Grand Banquet Room \nPricing \n$20 per person* \n*Price includes tax and gratuity. \nAdmission includes the science experience\, face painting\, Halloween activities\, snacks\, themed non-alcoholic beverages\, and a goodie bag. \nRegistration \nRegistration is required in advance. Space is limited\, so members are encouraged to register early. \nCancellation Policy \nCancellations are accepted up to 2 days prior to the event. \nCancellations made after this time will be subject to a 100% charge of the registration fee. \nFAQs \nDo parents/guardians need to stay during the event? \nYes. This is not a drop-off event. A parent or guardian must remain on-site with their child(ren) for the duration of the event. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children throughout the afternoon. \nWhat is included with my ticket? \nYour ticket includes the Geering Up science demonstrations and Zombie Eyeball Station\, face painting\, Halloween activities and colouring\, snacks\, themed non-alcoholic beverages\, and a goodie bag. \nShould kids wear costumes? \nAbsolutely! Halloween costumes are encouraged. \nWill the science activities be hands-on? \nYes! Along with watching the live science demonstrations\, kids will get the chance to participate in the hands-on Zombie Eyeball Station and create a spooky experiment of their own. \nDo we need to arrive right at 1:00 PM? \nWe recommend arriving near the beginning of the event so your little scientist has plenty of time to enjoy the activities and catch the live demonstrations throughout the afternoon. \nWhat if my child has dietary restrictions or allergies? \nPlease indicate any dietary restrictions or allergies when registering. Gather your crew\, dress in your best Halloween costume and join us for Halloween Howl\, featuring a spooky dinner buffet\, drinks and live music from Instario. \nEvent Details\nDate: Saturday\, October 31Dinner Buffet: 5:30–7:30 PMHappy Hour Menu: 7:30 PM–CloseLive Music: 7:30-10:30 PM \nPricing\nDinner Buffet & Live Music: $42.95 per person + applicable taxes & gratuities \n\nJoining us after 7:30 PM? A $5 entertainment fee per person will apply. \nReservations\nReservations are required and can be made online through the Member Central reservation system or by contacting the Member Lounge at 778-478-8215. \nFAQ\nAre reservations required?Yes. Reservations are required for Halloween Howl and should be made in advance. \nDo I need to wear a costume?Costumes are encouraged but not required! Come dressed up or simply come ready to enjoy the Halloween festivities. \nCan I come just for the live music?Yes\, but reservations are still required. Parties joining us for the evening following 7:30PM will be subject to a $5 entertainment fee per person. \nWhat food will be available?The Halloween dinner buffet will be available from 5:30–7:30 PM\, followed by the Happy Hour menu from 7:30 PM until close.
