Proxy Voting
Kelowna Yacht Club Bylaws permit proxy voting, with the details outlined in Bylaw 22.
Proxy forms are available online here or at the Club’s Reception desk.
Proxy forms can be presented until Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 6:30PM PDT. Please note, in accordance with Club Bylaws the maximum number of proxies held by a voting Member attending a General Meeting is two (2).

VOTING ELIGIBILITY:
Q: Am I eligible to vote?
A: Regular and Life Memberships in Good Standing are eligible to vote.
Q: How do I find out my membership type?
A: If you are unsure of your membership type, please contact Member Services at 250-762-3310 ext 200 or info@kelownayachtclub.com.
Q: What is a Member in Good Standing?
A: Members in Good Standing are all Members except a Member who has failed to pay Annual Member Dues or any other fees, assessments or debts as and when due and owing to the Club, and such Member is not in good standing for so long as their debit remains unpaid. If you are concerned regarding your status, please contact Member Services at 250-762-3310 ext. 200 or info@kelownayachtclub.com.
Q: My spouse and I are on the same membership– do we each get a vote?
A: Regular and Life Memberships are eligible for one vote if they are in good standing at the time of voting. If you and your spouse are on the same membership, you have 1 vote between the two of you.
VOTING:
Q: I can’t attend the general meeting in-person or online. Can I still vote?
A: You do not need to be present at the in-person or online General Meeting to vote. All voting will be by electronic vote.
Q: When will voting occur?
A: Voting is available from 9:00 AM, Tuesday, September 3, 2024 to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, September 4, 2024 PDT.
Q: When will I receive the electronic voting email?
A: The electronic voting invitation with further detailed instructions on voting will be emailed to all primary voting Members in Good Standing on September 3, 2024.
Q: What happens if I have difficulty trying to vote?
A: At the in-person meeting, there will be people available to walk you through the voting process if you require assistance.
Q: Can I vote in-person?
A: To ensure the highest integrity and anonymity of the vote, all votes will be through Election Buddy, which can be accessed at the meeting from any cellular or data-device. We will have laptops available at the meeting to process your vote in-person should you require it.

Q: How can I register a proxy vote?
A: Proxy forms are available online here or at the Club’s Reception desk.
Q: Who can act as my proxy?
A: Another voting Member in Good Standing can act as your proxy. Please note, in accordance with Club Bylaws the maximum number of proxies held by a voting Member attending a General Meeting is two (2).

A: In accordance with Club Bylaws the maximum number of proxies held by a voting Member attending a General Meeting is two (2).
ATTENDING THE GENERAL MEETING:
Q: I’m not a voting member– can I attend in person?
A: We do request that non-voting members consider utilizing the online option to maximize the in-person capacity for voting members.
Q: Can I bring a guest?
A: The General Meeting is for members only.
Q: Will there be an opportunity to ask questions at the General Meeting?
A: Yes, there will be an opportunity for voting members to ask questions specifically related to the proposed resolutions.
