DESCRIPTION:2026 Okanagan End-to-End Regatta \n\n\nWelcome to the 2026 Okanagan End-to-End Regatta! \n\n\nJoin us for two days of spectacular open-water racing on beautiful Okanagan Lake. Covering approximately 50 nautical miles\, this annual event brings sailors from across the valley together for one of the Okanagan’s premier racing experiences. \nThe End-to-End Race will run from Vernon to Penticton\, covering the full length of Okanagan Lake. After an early start on Saturday morning at the Vernon Yacht Club\, day one finishes at the Kelowna Yacht Club\, with an overnight stop before the fleet continues south on day two. The race wraps up Sunday afternoon at the Penticton Yacht Club. The change from September to June takes advantage of longer daylight hours\, opening the door to a more complete run of the course. Each year\, members gather to honour the Commodore as the Club’s fleet passes before the Commodore’s flagship\, exchanging a traditional salute. \nThis tradition is celebrated by yacht clubs around the world and is a proud part of KYC’s history. \nSailpast Attire & Etiquette \nTraditionally\, skippers and crew wear Club blazers and whites\, although neat and appropriate yachting attire is acceptable. \nThe Sailpast Salute \nAs your vessel comes abeam of the Commodore’s flagship: \n\nThe skipper renders a salute to the Commodore.\nA crew member dips the vessel’s flag by lowering it or gathering it to the staff.\nSailboats briefly luff their foremost headsail.\nThe Commodore returns the salute.\n\nWho Can Participate? \nAll Kelowna Yacht Club members are invited and encouraged to participate\, whether by boat or by attending the morning ceremonies and breakfast. \nIf you are unable to attend\, tradition suggests that your regrets be sent to the Commodore through the registration process. \nSchedule of Events \n8:30 – 9:30 AM : Complimentary Breakfast Buffet | Member Lounge \n9:30 AM : Flag Raising Ceremony | Flagpole \n9:35 AM : Board Procession & Sailpast Ceremony | Member Lounge \n10:00 AM : Proceed to Boats \n10:30 AM : Sailpast Begins \nBreakfast & Ceremony \nAll members are welcome to join us for a complimentary breakfast buffet before the event.
