We will have some additional program options becoming available in the spring for beginners to intermediate-level sailors running throughout the late spring/summer 2023 season. \nQ: What if I miss a class?\nA: We do not have any make-up classes planned; however\, the instructors are really great about summarizing previous lessons and helping you feel as though you are caught up with important information. \nQ: What if the weather is not very good?\nA: Rain or shine we will go out on the water. If there is a lack of wind during the on-water sessions\, we will still proceed as we can cater the lesson to cover plenty of hands-on experience topics. SUMMARY:Learn To Sail with the KYC Sail Fleet
DESCRIPTION:Learn to sail with members of the Kelowna Yacht Club Sail Fleet! The Introductory course is a fun and affordable opportunity to learn sailing theory\, terminology\, and important safety information\, with the additional option of getting on-water experience sailing on a wide variety of sailboats. This is a volunteer run program put on by members of the Sail Fleet. The sessions offered will allow you to learn at your own pace and not feel the pressure of theory exams. \nPlease note\, no certification will be given through the course. You can sign up for just the classroom theory lessons only or choose to also add 4 on water sessions. \n\n \nDates:\n \nClassroom Lessons (4 Classes)\nFebruary 25\, March 4\, March 11\, March 18 | 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM \nOn-Water Morning Sessions (4 Sessions)\nApril 19\, April 26\, May 3\, May 10 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM \nOn-Water Afternoon Sessions (4 Sessions)\nApril 19\, April 26\, May 3\, May 10 | 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM \nPrice:\n$150/person for Classroom Only Session (4 Classes)\n$300/person for Classroom & On-Water Lessons (4 Classes + 4 On Water Sessions) \nBook Now! \n \n \n \n\n \n\nFrequently Asked Questions: \nQ: Does this give a certification?\nA: This course does not give a certification; it is designed to help you to start building experience and get you connected with some of the sailing community here at the club. If there is lightning or a storm\, we will contact the participants and inform them of a new plan or refund. \nQ: Who should we contact with any questions?\nA: Email sailingschool@kelownayachtclub.com
